The PBA, with the assistance from the Township Administration and Police Department, has established a Police Honor Guard. The Honor Guard serves at funeral details and ceremonial functions.

Mission Statement:
The Bridgewater PBA 17 is a dedicated organization committed to serving the community of Bridgewater Township and the surrounding region. Through charitable initiatives, community engagement, and support for those in need, we aim to make a positive impact in the lives of our fellow residents. Our mission is to exemplify the principles of service, compassion, and community unity.
History:
The Bridgewater Township Police Department was officially established in July 1965, and shortly thereafter, in 1967, the Bridgewater PBA 17 came into being. Over the years, we have grown and evolved, fostering a sense of camaraderie and a shared commitment to serving our community.
As of today, our organization consists of 83 dedicated sworn officers who are the heart and soul of the Bridgewater Township Police Department. We are proud to serve a diverse community of approximately 250,000 people daily. This encompasses not only residents but also business owners and all who travel through the 34 square miles that make up Bridgewater Township.
Our unwavering dedication to the community goes beyond our role as law enforcement officers. We take our commitment to the people we serve to heart. This commitment has led us to establish a robust tradition of community outreach and philanthropy.
Our Charitable Initiatives:
Thanksgiving Turkey Dinners:
Each year, we join forces to provide multiple Thanksgiving turkey dinners to families in need. We understand the importance of coming together during the holidays, and we want to ensure that no one goes without a warm meal and the joy of the season.
Christmas Toy Drive: The holiday season is a time of giving, and we purchase and donate toys for children at St. Peter's Hospital during Christmas. We believe in spreading the spirit of generosity and bringing smiles to the faces of the youngest members of our community.
Support for Various Organizations: Our commitment extends beyond Bridgewater Township. We actively donate to various organizations throughout the state to assist people in need. Whether it's supporting local shelters, food banks, or other charitable institutions, we stand by those who need help.
NJ Special Olympics: We proudly participate in the Annual Torch Run to raise funds for the New Jersey Special Olympics. This event not only supports a great cause but also underscores our dedication to promoting physical fitness and inclusivity within our community.
Funds for Those in Need: We don't just offer our time and effort; we also assist in setting up funds for those in need and the less fortunate. We understand that life can present challenges, and we're here to provide a helping hand.
Scholarship Funds: Education is vital, and we support scholarship funds to help local students pursue their dreams and aspirations. By investing in the education of our youth, we aim to build a brighter future for Bridgewater Township.
The Bridgewater PBA 17 is more than just an organization; we are a part of the fabric of this community.
